Thank's Jason!
Good advice and info and tip about the book. I ordered it at once. It is not easy to find book of this kind while there is an abundance of books on lens design. I did centering in a similar way but it is something I need to improve. Good advice!
I will check Ohara and see if a quote isn't to scary. I live in Sweden so I think Germany is where I can expect to get glass. I have not considered making my own glass. It would also include making the instruments for measuring refraction index and dispertion with high accuracy.

Man, you are my hero! That machining was top notch! I really enjoyed watching your video, goes to show how far one can get if determination is there.

First of all I apologize for making such a short video lacking all the details you like to know. But I suppose most people are not like us ;o)
I like to fill in some details

Hi Mats,

Welcome to APUG, it is amazing to meet such a person like you!!

I already commented in your video that the next improvement would be coating by vapor-deposition, but then I saw a comment where you explain that you're already working on it.

The most amazing part was the mechanical design, you could earn money by converting lenses to a different mount. I bet your conversions would be some of the best available!!

Mats -- terrific work, and certainly it must have been very satisfying to you to complete this project so well. The f/stop engraving and lettering on the front ring are perfect! Great images, and great pleasure for you.
