Does anyone else have a collection

here are my Weston meters and some Kodaks and Apple cameras

In the process of cleaning them and moving them, just moved home.

I believe this is a 100% complete collection of Weston FILM camera meters, NOT cine, of no interest to me.

Nice collection! I sort of hope that there's a collector for all kinds of photographic equipment out there somewhere. Looks like certain niches are well covered.

I have accumulated a small collection of east-bloc cameras and lenses. This is nothing, repeat, nothing compared to what some other forum members have.

I'm trying hard not to become a collector but to be a user.

Preservation........... collectors step in where museums can not

Nice collection. Guess I need to photograph my collection for everyone to see. It's interesting that, now with time, digital cameras are collectable. I always wanted one of the Apple cameras, but after a while, thought they were too old to use, and I use many from my collection. Thanks for sharing.

My wife and I after fifty two years of marriage are quickly running out of storage space in the small house we share for the things we use on a regular basis, the last thing either of us need is to become a collector. of anything , whether it's photographic equipment or Bessarabian nose flutes. :D

Each to their own, but remember, museums are collectors, and on a regular basis thanks to people who collect and donate to museums we have the best museums in the world in the UK

I have a nice collection of older German and English cameras, mostly folders but a couple of Rolleis and a Microcord among them plus some nice Voigtlanders, including both a Barndoors vitessa and a Vitessa T, all are usable and over th course of the year they all get used,

I don't "try"; I do just that. But several of my cameras (and associated accessories) would be considered by some to be somewhat collectible.

lets see photos

Is there a reason you can't use what you collect ?
Personally I haven't really found any. When looking at the picture of my camera cabinet, one of the Exakta bodies has't been used for shooting film this year because it has pinholes in shutter curtains. Other than that, all the cameras have been used this year, most within two months.

On American Pickers, Frank was said to collect clocks when he was young. It earned him the nick name of "Tick Tock".

I'd sure rather collect meters and cameras than clocks! :D

Yeah, I have a collection of bills from buying collections . . . :whistling:

Instead of being sad, I celebrate small completed collections like these Olympus OM1,2,3 & 4 and the fact that they are marvelous works of industrial art and still perform wonderfully!

That picture makes me wonder what is in the bottom cupboard?

I think I'll disappoint you by telling what it contains.... development chemical bottles, eveready cases, straps, an old Metz flash unit. Probably the most condemnable thing in there is an original pink Zenit strap.

I like pretty things. I shoot many of these, but recent health problems prohibit me from shooting as much as I would like to. And when I am lacking in mobility, my GAS problems seem to increase. These are most of my TLR cameras, but it is an old photo. I also collect and use Nikon pro bodies, M42 SLRs, German cameras, and a few from Sweden and Japan.

It is a 300 mm f/5.6 lens that I got for next to nothing. It is in pristine condition. The image quality is really pleasing and it weighs a ton. I should use it more often, but I rarely use anything above 135 mm. I'll write about my experiences with stored stuff on the other thread as soon as I get my coffee done.
