I do try to find a way to bring a camera with my. However, I find that an SLR is a little too much at times, which is which I bring my Konica C35 RF along.

Last year the F4 or F5 and backpack were always within reach...But in 2008, my lil Nikon EM and pancake 50mm 1.8 Series E will become my everyday companion for obvious reasons..Lightweight and small.

Ken, your story reminds me of when my (now adult) daughters were very small. It had been sprinkling rain and they had raincoats and rubber boots they'd never really had occasion to wear. They wanted to walk outside in the "rain" and I let them. We had a group of gnarly trees on our lot and Elizabeth went to climbing, slipped, and was caught upside down by her rubber boot. Alison came running and screaming. I knew she was OK, just scared. As I remember it (but that was about 25 years ago, so who knows?) I ran for my camera before I ran to help her down. My brain tells me that's how it happened, though I have no photo to prove it. I don't know, but it feels real. And I really was and am a good mother.

I keep an old GAF 42mm SLR with 3 lens in my SUV, in the winter keep New View 4X5view camera and a meter with 5 preloaded film holders in a large cooler as well. Have yet to use the 4X5, but have found shots with the 35mm. In the summer only the GAF, but I keep couple of rolls of film in my brief case out the heat.

On the back of my wheel-chair is my back-pack, usually loaded with books, my journal, and a tiny back-pack with my 35mm, my 135mm lenses. Attached to my waist, as I'm in the 'chair, is my camera bag, with "Minnie" the Minolta SRT101, and a notepad & pen. I, sometimes, carry my new-to-me 400mm tele. But for every-day use, just me and Minnie.

Meant to ask--did everyone have a good New Year's? I certainly did--I went to bed at 12:30, but no real celebrating in my house.

I almost always have my Rollei 35 or Holga in my bag. Sometimes both. And film. For both.
