Alternative Process Juried Exhibit in CA

Viewpoint Gallery in Sacramento California is holding a juried competition open to all artists using hand-coated light-sensitive emulsions. The exhibit "Visual Edge 2007 – Handcrafted" will run from January 5 to February 3, 2007. Yours Truly will be one of the jurors. A PDF prospectus is available on the Viewpoint website. Good luck!

The entry form states: "Mail with image CD and entry fee by Oct. 27, 2006,..." I took that to be a mail by date. Hope the entry I sent Tuesday makes it to Ca. by Friday.

Yes- that is unclear on the entry form. For future reference, ask the folks at the gallery to clarify the entry form so it states specifically "Postmarked by" or "Delivered in our hands by". However, it's our own boneheaded maneuver for not asking sooner.

Due to the ambiguous date on the entry form, the deadline has been extended a week. I've previewed work from about 70 entrants so far, most submitting 3 images. Lots of good work coming in!! Let it be known that the work is being evaluated anonymously. Artist's names will not be released to the jurors until selection has been completed. This is fun...
