Dear photographers,

The magic has been done, and the assignments are out. Everybody should have a message from me.

Please check your own address again. Please wait a few days before you send anything. We need that time to correct address problems and other difficulties. If something is or seems to be wrong please PM me.

As this is not a blind print exchange, the "chain" is as follows:

-> ProfessorC1983 -> Andrew Keedle -> fgorga -> RauschenOderKorn -> piu58 ->

[This is for information only. Please keep in mind that nobody participating likes to receive a demotivational reminder or a PM saying "Where is my print?". If there is a problem, contact me. I will do my best to solve the problem.]

Our timeline:
Print and Send: February and March 2020
Rest and Relaxation: April 2020

I enjoyed very much seeing the exciting prints of the last round. If you don´t mind, please share your prints in this thread or in the gallery before sending them. Also, please give us a short heads up when you send or receive a print.

Have fun with ALPX-6!

I took my prints (one hand colored inkjet and one cyanotype) to the post office this morning.

Hopefully, all will go well... the USPS hasn't been particularly trustworthy of late.

I'll wait to hear that Bernd has received the prints before posting the scans here. I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise!

I received the package from @piu58 today, safe and unharmed by transit. However, I will not open it yet until I am able to get my prints in the mail. Hopefully within the next week or two!

I've been having problems with my Cyanotype coating which I think I have now resolved so hopefully I can get my prints made soon.

I have received two lovely prints from fgorga (a cyanotype and a hand-coloured inkjet print). Many thanks. Please do show your contribution here, they are both really worthwhile.

About the hand-coloured inkjet print:
a.) it is spectacular
b.) neither materials nor artwork are in any way inferior, it is top quality in any and all ways

Anybody who has doubts with regards to "it´s-not-analogue-enough" I can only recommend to be open-minded. The print fgorga sent me is actually among the ones I like most from both the ALPX and the BPX.

.

Glad to hear that my package arrived safely and thanks for the kind words about my prints.

Here are the scans of the prints:

Titled “Hillsborough Center, NH”, this is a hand-colored inkjet print. The image is about 6.5 inches (16 cm) square. The exposure was made in March 2020 by photographing the ground glass of a camera obscura with a digital camera. The print was made in December 2020 using an Epson P800 printer on Stonehenge Warm paper and hand-colored using Prismacolor Premier pencils. The penciling was smoothed/blended using a 1:1 mixture of vegetable oil and turpentine.

Titled “Stone God”, this is a cyanotype made with the traditional sensitizer on Fabriano Unica (white) paper using a digital negative. The image is about 4x5 inches (10x13 cm). Both original exposure and the print were made in December 2020.

I am currently working on salted paper prints and hope to have some of these ready for the next print exchange!

Today I received two fascinating prints from Bernd (RauschenOderKorn). They are made by the Chromoskedasic method, which I never heard before. I saw however, examples form that already. These are the most interesting photographs I got form an exchange ever. If you look at the images: They are made from b/w material! Unbelievable.
Recht vielen Dank!

Hello all -- unfortunately the end of this month has approached faster than I was anticipating, and I will likely be unable to fulfill my obligation. I had bitten off a bit more than I could chew with attempting to learn a new technique (tricolor gum over cyanotype) and despite making lots of progress in the darkroom over the past few weeks (I finally figured out a workable exposure sequence, but now I'm vexed with registration issues...), I've yet to produce a print I'd be proud to share.

Rather than ask for more time which I feel would not be in the spirit of the exchange, tomorrow I will send the two beautiful warm-toned lith prints I received from @piu58 on to @Andrew Keedle -- you are in for a treat! Thanks all and I hope to participate more meaningfully in a future exchange once I have more experience under my belt.

Hello all,

I received an envelope in the mail today from Andrew.

The envelope contained two lovely 8x10 inch prints (of the same image) one a 'raw' cyanotype and one a cyanotype toned in coffee.

Andrew says that he used a digital negative made from a scan of the original 4x5 FP4 negative made in a Harman Titan pinhole camera.

Here are quick scans of the two images. Pardon the cut off edges, the prints barely fit on my scanner.

Thanks Andrew!

Can't wait for the APX-7.
