Dear photographers,

The magic has been done, and the assignments are out. Everybody should have a message from me.

Please check your own address again. Please wait a few days before you send anything. We need that time to correct address problems and other difficulties. If something is or seems to be wrong please PM me.

As this is not a blind print exchange, the "chain" is as follows:

Dali -> piu58 -> jim10219 -> Rlibersky -> Oxleyroad -> RauschenOderKorn -> MrBrowning [if signup is finalized quickly] -> Dali

[This is for information only. Please keep in mind that nobody participating likes to receive a demotivational reminder or a PM saying "Where is my print?". Please don´t do that. If there is a problem, contact me. I will do my best to solve the problem.]

Our timeline:
Print and Send: July and August 2019
Rest and Relaxation: September 2019

If you like, please share your prints in this thread or in the gallery before sending them. Also, please give us a short heads up when you send or receive a print.

Have fun with ALPX-2!

The more the merrier I say. I still need to hurry up and decide on a) the image, and b) the process or processes I will use.

Rec'd on Saturday prints from Rlibersky. Two prints. Remarkably clear print on Kadak 1914 vintage Velox paper. The whites and blacks are so clear for paper so old. Real achievement being able to use the paper without fogging. There was a second print, which was mounted. I just could not pick the process used for this print - Lith...? Any chance of sharing some detail on the location of the image and process used?

I received two lith prints from piu58 last week and hadn't had time to update this thread until now. The Agfa MG RC paper had a beautiful warmth to it with very nice midtones, especially for a lith print. The Maco Lithpaper RC-F of a figure in relief flanked by a pair of windows has wonderful symmetry and the dark, rich, almost Van Dyke blacks contrast well with the bright whites. That one is definitely my favorite of the pair!

I sent off my print to Rlibersky today. It's a triple exposure, monotone casein print of some mountains in a field I found in Colorado that I took with some IR film. I ran into some staining issues, especially while trying to expose the shadow tones. In the future, I'll experiment with altering the sizing concentration to scale up with the increasing pigment content. I'm discovering with casein, you have to balance the size, pigment, dichromate, and exposure time, development technique, and negative density. Change one, even just a little, and you have to change the others. Fortunately, they seem to be somewhat predictable (so far).

Received a print from jim10219. See above, although the actual print is nicer then the scan. Thanks Jim.

I just received two lith prints from Nicolas. The negative is from the nineties, a very fine shot of a fair in Lyon, France. The two prints are identical, but one of them is selenium toned. It is interesting to see the color shift.

Thank you very much!

Now that is one spectacular result. Before then end of the round, all prints have been sent and only one is left in transit. I hope the mail does not take too long any more and MrBrowning will also receive the print from me.

Randy, if you received a print from me, that one is for the BPX32.

Mr.Browning is the only member still waiting for his print of this round. (which should arrive any minute, as it was sent at the same time)
