I have about 40 copies of American Photographer from the 1940s here -- good condition, lots of fun ads for the latest greatest cameras, such as the Kodak Medalist II, many interesting articles on the how-to of photography.

The war years (World War II for you youngsters) are interesting for what they don't show -- very few ads for actual cameras, as these were not produced for public consumption due to the war effort. On the other hand, the issues from 1942 show ads for Zeiss cameras -- the American branches of the company apparently were fine with advertising whatever wares they still had. I suspect service and parts from the factory were a problem.

Fun stuff, although a bit weird to see all these articles about technology which is still precisely the same technology we're all still using today.

I don't need them, fun though they are. so here's the deal: You send $25 to my paypal account at

summicron12000@yahoo.com

and I will cram as many of these as I can into a medium flat rate postal box and send them to you. I just tried and most of them fit, so this is a one-time, one-box deal. First pm/money takes the lot.
