Don't shoot me, but wouldn't it be cheaper and equal or higher photographic quality to just get two Rolleiflexes on a stereo bar?

(yes)

But I agree, where's the fun in that!

Stereo bar? Not sure what that is. I'm in the process of trying to build my own 120 stereo camera, but who knows when that will happen (if ever.) Foremost though, that camera is just a thing of beauty!

That seems like the images would be way too far apart...for my usage. Aren't those more for far away stuff? I tend to shoot things up close and personal!

Well, they're adjustable, but you're right depending on what camera you use. Like an SLR probably would be pushed too far apart, but 2 Rolleiflex's might be able to approach the interocular distance (62-65mm).

I suppose I could buy the stereo bar for distance shots and mount a pair of hasselblads on it.

tjaded ,

you can do it with single camera but if you get the attention of roller blade girls , you can make it with 5 cameras also.
middle up down right left
people at close to you made jaws by this way

Well, I've got a few hasselblads to go on the bar...might as well set two up at once. Five, now that would take a bit more investment!

I've been wanting one of these for years.

There you go! $1,854! Your $5,000 bid won, right? That sniper WAS you, right?

Tempting, but I had to pass. Oh well, maybe next time. Back to the drawing board for me...

I can only imagine the camera is going to go for $1500-$2k.

All good-natured kidding aside, you must really know your stereo cameras. You hit that final bid price ($1854) dead center. Very impressive.

Let us know when one comes up for sale and we will set up a collection to help you raise the bread for the stereo camera. Would Boze earphones work with them?

I really, really, REALLY want one...I've been hunting for years now. That seems to be what the go for. As much as I want it, this little film store of mine is where I'm dumping money for now. If all goes well, the success of the store will mean that I can eventually buy one. Probably a week after E-6 disappears...

I've found Grado Prestige headphones are a perfect match!

Oddly, much like my taste in cameras, I prefer mono with a dash of stereo every once in a while!

So last night I was at the state fair hanging out with my Crown Graphic. I was walking through the midway carnival rides when I happened across a fellow using one of these on a tripod,

When I checked it out online I noticed it was less expensive new ($1,745) than the antique Rolleidoscope sold for ($1,854). And that's after the company claims three recent price increases forced by currency fluctuations.

The fellow was very enthusiastic about it. Said it was actually manufactured in China. He also said it's a pretty solidly built unit. I know it looked really cool. Of course, he felt the same about the Crown.
