Kodak announced Ektachrome films
a year ago ! Many people are waiting for releasement soon.
Meanwhile Aliens arrived and noticed the desperately need of new films ?

Look at this here :

Revolog is a new series of films.
If you want to have special effects without using software - use revolog
special effect films ?

Then you may have a surprice after developing :

Volvox02620031.jpg
Your beloved cat is transformed.....?

But this is just the begining.

Have a look on Tesla :
Tesla1.png

If your parents did not allow you the use of special weapons as a child -
here comes Tesla :

Tesla113_06_21_Tesla1No11258_15.jpg

But don't be affraid - there are much
more films from Revolog.

Last one I will introduce - you should never forget :

Tesla2.png

TESLA 2 !
If Tesla 2 appeares on the scene it will change everything : LOOK :surprised:

Tesla212-03-13-Tesla2No.1798-11.jpg

(The better name to this film should be
"DOOMSDAY II" )
But Roland Emmerich dreamed about
this effect since he was in college.....long before Independence Day.

My question is : "Is there a need.....
(sorry I don't trust to continue)

At last : Have you ambitions to create
some effects on film (c41/E6) and how
is your workflow then?

All your examples are wellcome..

with regard

PS : If you are realy interested to Revolog films - the pricing is around
$ 9,50 and of cause there is a nice
video on YouTube - just google.

Warning : The original revolog video on
YouTube is very special.........

I would keep shooting this film the results are interesting.

What's the point? I can get the same effect by putting my film through the airline hold baggage scanner.

Sorry this link does not work ?
Bob you better should try it with Google :
YouTube / "How to make revolog films"

The very new creation is "kosmos"
and here is the link : shop.revolog.net/product/kosmos

PS : "kosmos" is looking not soo bad..:wondering:

Yeah - effects with films (color)
Here is an example :
tmp_21327-EPY 64-1087087105.jpg

(damaged EPY - black/blue with no real colors)
The question with effects on film like revolog is the framing...?

But how could we live without Aliens ?

We will never survive allone - but what about this survival pack :

Pixlr / phone / 7 min.

1.)
tmp_21327-EPY 64-1087087105.jpg

2.) ....next step

3.) final

But it looks more unlike Alien Invasion:redface:

Why would I pay good money for ruined film?

I realy may not say - but some like it..
The question to me is to create an effect
analogue.
There might be effects from filter (on the lens). There might be effects from special
emulsions
Kodak-EIR-300x217.jpg

like Kodak Aerochrome :

5.01-680x510.jpg

(c) Richard Mosse

And there might be other methods to have effects (without software)

I'm impressed that aliens use 135-format film.

People will always argue about taste ...
I don't like it.

That should be corect macfred. It makes no real sense to argue about taste.
On the other hand - to have the "right" taste is a central key to good photography.
What we often forget is : " This key lays allways in the hand of the observer"..

By the time - you do not need to be afraid of Alien nuke strikes. We all should know Aliens have long time experience with beam weapons :

An other alternate to special effects is the simple unsharpness. In combination with long time exposure it might makes sense (sometimes ) ...... :

But let's see what the different makes
to effect films : Revolog "lazer"

Lazer_12-09-01-LazerNo.2508-02.jpg

....the key lies in the hand of the beholder

I prefer to do this kind of stuff myself with double exposures. Shoot a roll of lights/ink/macro etc. and double over it. Much more fun that using some overpriced ready-made film, and much more unpredictable and interesting I think. Examples I've done:

This was flipped lens macro of ink in water, with light source from the side.

photo522.jpg

And this was actually a triple exposure (hence the grain...). Macro of a piece of bismuth and something else.

That should be the right response to Aliens - with such methods we might
avoid an invasion.
More of such methods and Aliens will surrender. Thank you much to show us your workflow Arbitrarium.
It is a bit different from so called "sandwich" method I know. And of course
I have to say : Very Impressive

with regards

PS : By the time to avoid missunderstandings - the example of
Michael Weslay isn't from Revolog Films.
It is from extreme long time exposure
> 6 hours. ...:surprised: think about

Yes, much prefer your photos.

Are Kodak's current issues with 120 backing paper really just an alien code that we are all misinterpreting?

The Revolog products are interesting, but most of these effects are probably best done with Photoshop (or even better, not done at all). I do tend to like some of the false color emulsions. I find that Lomography Torquise gives everything a "martian" look than can be appealing - Their "Purplechrome" film, however, just makes everything look like brown mush.
