Reguarding the film on aiplanes question.

I heard the news that film was no longer alloud on airlines, and freaked out, so i called tsa, and they said that regular 35 mm film was alloud and could be hand checked if necceceray. They also said that you have to call your airline to see if they will alow you to bring your camera on board, But 35 mm film was alloud.

I think this only applies to USA flites.

Hopefully this clears up some confusion.

We've hit a bad spell for film and travel in the last few days but if I may try and lighten things by an example from a book about punctuation this time rather than spelling.

A panda enters a cafe and without as much as saying "please", grabs a sandwich and eats it. Then pulls a gun, fires twice in the air and walks out.

The waiter says to the panda: "What was that all about? You really can't do things like that."

"Oh yes I can" says the panda. He throws a nature book at the waiter and says:"Its all in this badly punctuated book which describes me"

The waiter opens the book and sure enough against the word panda the book say: "Large black and white bear-like creature from China that eats, shoots and leaves"

Jeannette. Yes, I should have given my source for the example. A great book. It's certainly how grammar and punctuation should be taught.

In Grade 7 I had an "old school" British trained grammar teacher. He has infected me for life. It's not that I don't occasionally mispell words (I surely do), it's just that I can spot bad spelling and poor grammar a mile away. This "gift" , on occasion, seems to bring me all kinds of grief!

I think it's just a Canadian thing because I can also spot mispelled words and bad grammar a mile away.

Everything that I know about grammar I learned from the book, "How to Speak English More Good"

I just flew in to the US today from Copenhagen via Iceland. Had to check all my bags and carry stuff on the plane in a clear plastic bag, but I put my film (about 30 rolls of 35mm) in that bag and had no problems going through security.
