Yea she is, shame my boss is havnig me put it up on ebay starting tomorrow night, and if its like everything else thus far, its gona start at 99 cent.

My co-worker and I were joking bout taking it home for the weekend and trying it out, but we were both too paranoid about hurting the thing. Its damn nice, but I'm too afraid to play with it, and I've taken home a Leica IIIg with a nice lens and played with that without a problem.

Har Har, if my boss does say 99 cent starting with no reserve then I'd have to compete with all you guys, and I ain't that rich. When he left today the items going up (rolleiflex 6008, leica summarex 85mm f/1.5, and some anamorphic lens) was said to go up for 99 cent no reserve I'll know for sure as sunday evening nears, until then I'm gona go ahead and get these items scheduled.

Well I guess format wouldnt be shown, but its a 6x6, has an autowinding back, two of em. The lens as shown is some 80mm f/2.8 HFT Planar which i beleive is a Carl Zeiss glass. Waist level finder, seems to have both auto shutter and auto aperture ( you can choose either, or both, or neither), focus screen is a matte grid with a micro/split prism. Has two batteries plus the one charger, everything seems to be emaculate condition.

Needless to say, it felt nice, but I don't need another camera right now, least not one that'll put a serious dent in my finances, also my co-worker was saying we need to get it sold soon or it will be coming home with one of us on a regular basis... too tempting.

My boss shot a couple rolls of it already, probally gona get the 120 developed tonight and scaned if any of you are curious.
 
Yes, the Planar is Zeiss glass. If it's anything like the 80mm Planar I had on my SL66, it's hot stuff. Likely it's even better.

6x6cm, initially 645 (reversible portrait/landscape) only (or digi), 6x6 appearing a few months later, same lens mount as 6000 series which I was told it would replace. MUCH smaller, lighter and handier; even more high-tech than the 6000 series.

I have one of these cameras, a 6008 professional, with the same lens.
I bought it in Sydney about 8 years ago.
Excellent camera, quite innovative for medium format.
Choice of manual exposure, aperture or shutter priority or full auto.
Various metering modes, & multi exposure capability.
Easy & fast loading film holders & the film backs have a clever built in dark slide.
The lens is superb, one of the best I have owned.
I've hardly used the camera for the past couple of years & I'm now thinking about putting mine on ebay. Not sure what it will fetch - I've been told that the people buying medium format cameras are more interested in the mechanical ones like 500C/M & not so keen on the newer electronic models.
 
There's a page or so devoted to it in this week's British Journal of Photography – along with a picture of the Leaf-branded version which will presumably be digital-only :-(

The Hy6 shown is fitted with a Schneider AF Xenotar. I wonder if the 'Hy' stands for 'hybrid'? Will Mr Kaufman use one?

The cameras are not THAT expensive (OK everything is relative) but from what I've seen some of the lenses would definitely lead to me sleeping in the shed :D

Have look at Dead Link Removed to get an idea.
 
Very informative link on the photonet that was give. I enjoy working with a simple straight forward camera on the tripod. If I were going to buy a medium format 6x6 it would be the H word. But each to their own.

Ffodes seems to be having the cameras twice what they are worth now days. For example I got my RB67 with two lens, and a prism for under 300$. On that site they got a RB67 for no less than 600$ for just the body only, both in the same condition. (using keh.com , or ebay's 'completed' sales is a better indicator of worth, since thats what people will pay for them)
 
beautiful cameras - posting new material about them

a lot of film cameras have beautiful designs. i have a late model pentax 67. not enough high res images of it are online, in my opinion. i took a decent one and posted it to my blog to hopefully get it out there. it is nice to search and find recent posts, reviews, and information about traditional film gear!
