Yes, the Planar is Zeiss glass. If it's anything like the 80mm Planar I had on my SL66, it's hot stuff. Likely it's even better.

The cameras are not THAT expensive (OK everything is relative) but from what I've seen some of the lenses would definitely lead to me sleeping in the shed

a lot of film cameras have beautiful designs. i have a late model pentax 67. not enough high res images of it are online, in my opinion. i took a decent one and posted it to my blog to hopefully get it out there. it is nice to search and find recent posts, reviews, and information about traditional film gear!
When the last time you seen anyone take serious esthusiasm shooting photographs of their digital cameras?
Digital cameras, at least the small ones, aren't really cameras at all they're jewellery.
