Agfacolor Vista 200

Surprised there is not a thread for this film available in the UK at £1/24 from Poundland. I get it processed for £2 and scan it with my Epson V300.

I believe it is actually Fuji. While the films are 24 I seem to get nearer 27 from some of the films I have processed.

It is interesting to see how quickly it goes, or does not go from the stores. In the more affluent areas any stock seems to go pretty quickly. In less affluent areas it hangs around, until no doubt someone realises they can probably make a few bob on eBay, where it is sold at £2 a pop!!

Personally I find it a great film for general use through my collection of cameras.

I believe this is Fuji CN200 - their budget C41 film...so not as good as Superia 200 (no fourth layer) but still a sound product.

I've shot several rolls in recent months including one 10 days ago on a visit to Malta. The results are good, certainly a major bargain at Poundland. I bought some last year on a whim to use in a rather crappy Vivitar under water camera and was sufficiently impressed to try it in a decent camera. It's been discussed before on APUG and some people recommend it as their "go to" film for suitable conditions. Almost all branches of Poundland offer it, and it seems to sell quite healthily. I'm not sure who's buying it, but it seems to reduce in number then get restocked. I do see this on eBay for £2 plus postage, or people selling what they describe as "bulk buy" 5 rolls for a tenner including postage. You can bet they're buying from Poundland and making a few quid profit.

There is also a 36 exposure version available from several online retailers...but the £1 for 24 remains superb value. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the film.

There never was a Agfacolor Vista 200 on the market. It was called Agfa Vista 200.

This film is called AgfaPhoto Vista.

It's pretty good film.

High saturation, plenty of overexposure lattitude.

I find 24exp a nuisance (my lab charges a flat-rate) so I go for Fujifilm c200 and AgfaPhoto 400 in quantity from Fotoimpex. These 36 exposures rolls actually workout cheaper.

Mentioned in dozens of threads, and it's been available for years from poundland.
Always used to be in 36 rolls, but the 24s only for the last couple of years

It's cheap, and I fire away with it when I shoot "unimportant" stuff. I don't like the quality that much. Rather go for the slightly more expensive Fuji Superia 200

Believe it is the same as the discounter-films sold in some German discounter stores until recently (DM and Rossman). Its quite good I think. A bit grainy but saturated colors. I hope they keep selling it in Britain.

I'm not a big fan of saturated colours but this "Agfa Photo" branded product is good when there's lots of blue or green in the photo such as landscapes. If you tweak the final image it's not bad for portraits either. As a general purpose budget film it's great value. Some people also simply use it to test camera bodies or lenses.

There's nothing wrong with it, and I may well use more in the coming months.

Indeed it is. If you look at a cassette of the Poundland Agfa film, there is a set of numbers printed on the enamel just below the felt light trap where the film protrudes. This number is a 'code' for what the film actually is. It is the same number as on the Fuji CN200 film cassettes, but not the 'Superia' version. Likewise the Agfa Pecisa slide film will almost certainly display the same number as on one of the Fuji slide films.

I've certainly seen deals on eBay where a lab occasionally offers very cheap processing, sometimes for £1 or £2 plus postage. If you gather together a few rolls at a time that could be a real bargain as they will combine postage into one package. Note that is processing only, no printing, scanning or other services. You just get your negatives in a sleeve...which may well suit a lot of people who wish to selectively print or to scan their negs.

It is normally in 24exp packs. It was the same when they had Kodak Colorplus.
A few years ago whoever supplies them, be it directly from Lupus Imaging or an UK distributor didn't have the 24exp. Rather not supplying Poundland with the required 24exp, they supplied with the 36exp rolls. A year later or so some shops were supplied with the Vista 400 version, still in 24exp rolls. It is just that Vista 200 in 24exp was in shortage.
Also a couple of years ago some shops were supplied with a package deal of 2x rolls of Ferrania Solaris 200 for the normal price of £1.

Agfaphoto Vista Plus 200 is the only film I use that I keep more than one roll.
I normally use 5+ rolls every 3-4 weeks.

I have noticed that you can no longer buy this film in bulk from Poundlands website I wonder if that is to combat the Ebay resellers.

After some stock taking seems I have 11 rolls of colour exposed film to develop (some 15 years old), also amongst it 5 rolls of modern Agfa/Fuji 24 ex poundland......God I hate scanning.
