Recently on eBay I bought about 450 medium-format slides of various locomotives and trains. Some of them were taken using black &whiteAgfa Scala 200. They are amazing! I had only read about B&W slides and had never seen them before.
Is it worth trying the expired Agfa Scala 200 (01/2000), assuming it's now ISO 50?

You can make B&W slides with just about any film, although preferably use something with a clear base. Ask @Ivo Stunga; he's done B&W reversal on many, many films.

And yes, B&W slides can be magnificent!

Age fog generally reduces DMax of B&W slides. Fresh film is preferable but given that this is a film that has long gone into oblivion, you can take your chances and see what you get. OTOH you can also consider making slides with fresh Adox HR-50 which gives excellent results at EI:50 and EI:100.

I did not find Adox HR-50 as a rollfilm

Better choose Adox CHS-100 II. It has a clear base like HR-50. Available in 120.

I've heard that FP4+ works well in the reversal process.

Before you start, find out who can develop them for you. If I remember right, they need a special developer (in addition to being for reversal, of course)
