Lately, I seem to have become an unintended Agfa Jsolette collector. It started when I saw one with a frozen focus helicoil for $15. That was a royal PITA to correct but later, I happened across a $13 Jsolette V on eBay and bought it. I forgot that I had a bid in on another $13 Jsolette, which I had ended up winning. The third has not arrived yet, but the first and second are now working cameras. The second had the frozen helicoil as well and so the first thing I did was to remove the lens from the shutter mechanism and drop it into a container full of 90% alcohol. I intended to leave it there a week based on my experience with the first camera but when I checked it on day 2, it easily came apart. A cleaning of the lens and helicoil, some white lithium on the threads and reassembly left me with a nice little camera. The bellows on the second Jsolette look really good compared to the bellows on the original. Between the bellows and the sticky lens even after cleaning the helicoils, that first camera will most likely live in the camera cabinet as a decoration. The second will be the one shot once in a while. Who knows what the third will bring.
