Agfa APX question

I was given 6 rolls of Agfa APX (400 ISO) and I've never used it before. Any recommendations? Is it likely to be grainy or not? etc...

If I say 'yes', what will that mean? What is grainy to me maybe perfectly acceptable to you. A 'no' answer is just as meaningless. I'd say, go expose a roll and develop in my favorite developer (XTOL) and see for your self. If you don't like the results, send the rest of the film to me... no, just kidding.

If you don't like the look of the film for your present needs, save it for another time when you need a film with more or less grain (depending on your tastes) than you are presently getting...

All b&w film is good, APX 400 is particularly good in my book... whatever that means.

Also depend a little bit on the format you are using. if it is 120 put it in some Xtol as already suggested, it's a winner.
If you like it you can still stock op on the film from B&H

My preference is to rate it at 200 and process it in Rodinal @ 1:50 for 11 min.

Best thing is to send them to me.

APX is a little grainy and dev'd in Xtol gives beautiful results, rated at either 320 or box speed worked well for me but that depends on how you expose your film.
