I have the BBF and inquired at Freestyle about what non-perf films they could get. This is what I got back:

"The problem with using non perforated film with the blackbird fly is the
use of the film counter. You will have to manually count the amount of
clicks the film wind lever makes. But, I will look into finding if we
can get non perforated slide film and black and white film. I think the
beauty about using the blackbird fly with 35mm negatives is because you
can actually include the sprocket holes with your image. Otherwise, it
will be the same as shooting medium format film or a Holga camera."

I disagree with the last sentence, and have no problem counting the clicks, personally. Haven't heard back from them about whether or not there are any transparency or fast films available non perfed. The problem is that is seems not too many 35mm non-perf films are available. APX-100 seems to plentiful as dirt, and I have also found Portra 160 (NC, I believe).

That is an issue, but there are some amazing microfilms which you can get in non-perfed 35mm format. Fuji HRII and Agfa Copex, to name two.

They are sharp as hell (no grain) but controlling contrast is difficult and developing can be hit and miss (i've used rodinal 1+200, 60 minute stand as well as diafine 3+3 and Diafine 4+4).

Ive attached an example of the HRII done in the rodinal soup mentioned above

I've been looking for the HRII - not sure where you are, but do you know if it's available in North America? If so, where?

You might contact a movie film processing lab and find out if any of them have perforation services. With all of the different 35mm film perforation formats needed to handle movie film I have to believe some lab out there has this capability. Having 30 100ft rolls of APX 100 would be worth something based on the number of people who treat this film as a cult classic.

Something that is not often done these days, but an older lab MIGHT have a B&H perforator in the storage area. Most still Cameras will accept BH1866 Perfs in place of the normal KS1870 perfs.
