Sold Agfa Ambi Silette with Proximeter II

Agfa Ambi Silette 35mm rangefinder camera. Includes 50mm f2.8 Agfa Solinar ("tessar") lens, original case and Agfa Proximeter II close up attachment.

Very bright rangefinder patch and frame lilnes. Frame lines are adjustable (see photo showing top of camera) for the Agfa 35mm, 50mm and 90mm lenses that are often seen on the auction site at fairly reasonable prices. Shutter is smooth, self timer works. No fungus or abrasions on lens, but looking at a bright light, there is a little dust ("patina"?) in the lens that shouldn't have a noticeable effect on images, although it would benefit from cleaning for serious use. It looks like the front element is easily removable with a spanner and that the dust is probably behind the front element.

The Ambi Silette with lens interchangeabilty might be thought of as a "poor man's Leica". The camera has no noticeable scratches or scuffs on it, but the strap for the case does need to be replaced. Otherwise, the case also looks like new.

All in all, a nice example and the proximeter is not a common accessory. $80 shipped within the USA.

And this is a type 2 Ambi Silette with a wider rangefinder baseline, strap lugs and a rounded winder lever! I have a type I, and I can say the lenses and handling on Ambi Silettes are superb. Someone get this! It’s a screaming good deal. GLWS.

Okay, I'm adding a "pot sweetener" for the Agfa Collector who has almost everything.

I'm adding an Agfa 6150/000 parallax corrected close up set. The "Natarex" lens fits 35.5mm filter rings I'm not sure what it fits, but one reference indicated it may have been for one of the Optimas and it may fit other Agfas. It's complete with parallax corrected shoe mount viewfinder in the original mint Agfa leather case. It is NOT for the Ambi Silette.
