Agfa ad over stalactites gone - Melbourne

I was in the city taking some photos today and i noticed that the old agfa ad that was above stalactites on Lonsdale and Russell has been replaced with a newer billboard. Havent been in in a few months so not sure when it happened.

A bit late with Agfa retreating from the consumer market 14 years ago...

Yeah, it was an old ad that just wasn't torn down. I found a shot of it that I'll scan soon but i dont think i ever took a colour one.

Such ads are typically very interesting, morsels from the past. I even know of a wall-painted ad that is protected as monument.

And the Gevaert signing at an Agfa exhaust stack is protected too.

Here we go. Not sure why I never bothered taking a colour photo. Even with my phone.

I don't recall, it may have been given away to a lab or museum.

I am a bit disappointed, I expected something older. This illuminated ad is only 24 years old.

(But I admit, I have not seen a box included over here.)
