I was fortunate enough to recently acquire a couple rolls of large format film, a 125 ft roll of Kodak Plus-X Aerographic 9.5" wide and a 100ft roll of 5" wide Fortepan 400.
My intention for these films was to cut them down to make now obsolete large format roll films for some of my early Kodaks. 104 film (5" wide) for a No.4 Cartridge Kodak, 101 film (3 2/3" wide) for a No.2 Bulls-Eye Kodak and 122 film (3 5/8" wide) for a 3A Autographic Kodak Special.
I'm interested in hearing your thoughts and experiences with cutting down large format roll films like this, such as what types of slitter you have used or made. Also does anyone have sources for backing paper, or other suitable lightproof paper for the same purpose in appropriate lengths? Re-using existent backing paper is of course the obvious choice, and I have some 122 backing paper, but I'm not sure for the wider stuff.
