Are you sure Freestyle wouldn't buy 200 and sell them through their catalog? The books could be shipped to them direct from the publishers. Since Freestyle sells the toning materials, that would be synergistic.

The same might be true for Wolfgang Moersch?

Hi Tim and all ... I have just borrowed The "MASTER" Photographer's Toning Book published by Argentum in 2002 from my local library ... Is this exactly the same book as the one being discussed?
If so I would buy one in a heartbeat ...
Cheers and good luck Tim
P.S. If you haven't done so before you must see some Aussie Rules when in Melbourne ...

They are both the same. The US edition publisher insisted on dropping the 'Master' from the title for some reason. Just makes it confusing IMHO.

Toning book mailing list

Thanks everybody.
Largely as a result of the APUG interest and encouragement it now looks likely that we will be able to bring this back to market soon. I'll post details shortly if and when they are confirmed.

Ralph has suggested that I ask interested people to email me personally so that I can compile a mailing list to notify everyone who wants a copy. This seems a good idea and would be more foolproof than relying on a general announcement so if you would like to be personally notified please email me here.
Please also feel free to pass this on to anyone else you know who would want to be notified.
Thanks again everyone. FYI, if all goes according to plan it will be exactly the same book printed by the original printer.

TONING BOOK REPRINT NEWS

I promised to let you all know if I found a way to bring this book back to market and so this is the announcement that it will be coming back.
Those on my mailing list will have also received this news in my Spring newsletter today.

I have had a good reprint quote from the original printer for 1,000 copies, which is the smallest run they will do.
This should mean that the quality or reproduction should be exactly the same as the original.

I am partnering with Martin Reed at Silverprint for this venture. He will handle order fulfillment from there so that there will be no delays on shipping when I am out of the country. I think this is an excellent solution.

I don't have news as to a date yet, but it will be several months as we have to wait for a reprint slot and then bring the books by sea from the Far East.

The price will be the original cover price of £20 so you won't have to pay hundreds for it anymore if you want a copy!
However, as they want 65% discount we probably won't be able to afford to sell it to Amazon either so that is likely to be the final price.

I will bring more details when the time comes and also through my newsletter and I would like to thank everyone on APUG who encouraged me in this idea - it was through you that the idea was born in the first place.

I am holding a mailing list here for those who wish to be personally notified.

About a dozen 'APUGers' signed up when I posted the link before and more today, but of course we are a very long way from break-even point with 1,000 books so please spread the word  Thank you.

That hurts! They've charged us 60% in the past, I guess they are getting greedier yet.

Anyway, good news! All the best.

I hope that the size of APUG especially in the U.S means that Tim will meet his 1000 copies target but it has struck me that depending on the U.S. equivalent of the U.K. public library system there is scope for U.S. APUGers to lobby their public library to request that a copy is made available. Given how many such libraries there must be in a country as large as the U.S. there must be tremendous scope to increase sales. I will certainly be requesting that there is at least one copy of it in my county's library stock

Fantastic book that everyone should have. I already have a copy or I'd be all over this.

Thank you pentaxuser, that would be just the sort of push we would need.
