Hey, the first one is about Sodium Nitrate, not Silver Nitrate! Silver nitrate can't be that cheap!

As you can tell, I never took a chemistry class  I'm glad APUGers are smarter than me

I get mine at Salt Lake Metals. The sell on eBay or Google for their website. They had the most economical prices I could find.

talk to Mike at Artcraft.... www.artcraft.com the best price on quality silver nitrate bar none. He has actually lowered hi prices recently with the drop in silver costs... so all this hype about film companies saying silver has gone up causing a price hike is BS.... It's actually come down a fair bit.

I'd question the purity of product when it's shown as a pile of crystals, exposed to the air
What's in that .4% of impurities makes all the difference - a batch/lot number and or assay should reveal what contaminants are present at the time of packaging.

Jason,

Artcraft is a lot less money. Salt lake is selling 500 grams for $780 High purity while artcraft sells a pound (415gr) for $392. that's a huge difference.

I get mine at Salt Lake Metals. The sell on eBay or Google for their website. They had the most economical prices I could find.

Second on Artcraft..good for lots of stuff but especially silver nitrate..

Thanks for all the great tips. I checked out Artcraft Chemicals and if I buy chemicals from their website, there's a shipping fee, but if I buy from them through Ebay, there's no shipping charge. Is that correct? They do have good prices. Cheers!
