Just wondering if anyone had any practical information on the properties of the stain on the negative that is produced by Pyrocat HD when exposed to solvents.
If said negative was cleaned in a bath of isopropyl alcohol or perchlorethylene, will it dramatically effect the stain or remove it totally?
Pyro was used pretty extensively in the early 1910's in motion picture work, but I don't know of anyone actually cleaning their negatives in that period; the film was simply ran through printers until it fell apart or was discarded (as far as I can ascertain).
I plan on performing some tests myself, but just wondered if anyone had some anecdotal or real experience with this issue.
