Advent Calendat DIY TLR Camera (Recesky)

I was given a German Advent Calendar which is a DIY set to build a Lo-Fi TLR camera for 135 film in 24 steps. The result will be a cheap plastic TLR camera known as Recesky. I thought it would be funny to let you participate in its building, like a real Advent Calendar, every day from december 1st to december 25th.

I was aware of this kit model but not of the kit being marketed as doors-calendar. What a great idea.
The calendar is made by a well-known german publisher of technical/scientific books for consumers.

That looks like a very good step by step, or day to day thing to keep one motivated. The results are quite pleasing. Do you know what the aperture and shutter speed are?

I thought it was pretty good that a year later you were able to download the Ebook for B&W photography as well as the no frills photographic software. Any comments on the software?

Some years ago when visiting my brother in-law in Tübingen I helped him set-up a pinhole kit camera that was designed to be left somewhere for months at a time. They received it as a gift. With the final image(s) being posted online and viewable only to those who participated, or were sent links to see only certain images. As far as I know, it originated in Germany or Switzerland. We set their pinhole camera in their backyard, facing toward their house. Their resultant image, was pretty good.

in my opinion the speed is about 1/125s and the aperture about f8.

I remember the pinhole project, I was part of it. I lived in the south of france, in azille then. I remember the picture of azille being online in those days. I will look it up next week for more information. I'm leaving for a holiday just now...

I looked it up, it's not the same project. the one I was part of is here http://www.camera-obscura-1-inf.net/html/pinhole_33-64.html#024 and as it's still alive, I will paticipate again.

It's interesting to read this thread again, as when it first appeared, I looked for one of the calenders for myself, so that I too could have a go at assembling the small TLR. But at the time I could not find one.

But, one of my Christmas presents this December 2019, was a Haynes kit version, with Haynes being most well known in the UK, for their manuals to fix motorcars.

I will be opening it soon, setting aside a free afternoon to assemble it.

I love the low tech look of the these types of cameras, and am sure it will provide me with a fun project, both to assemble and use it.

I will report back, as and when it has all been done.
