I couldn't find any info on the web or on the datasheet of fx39. So what is normally the shelf life of this stuff? Is it indefinite?

If memory serves, I heard straight from the source that the shelf life should be about a year if maintained properly. I decant the original bottle into small brown glass bottles (Boston Rounds) filled to the brim to ensure as long a shelf life as possible. For development times, I'd highly recommend reviewing this page: http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.php?doc=paterson-alt

Edit: sorry, didn't see that someone already posted this link.

I did a long term test: I've used Adox FX-39 from a full, original bottle stored for 1,5 years.
It worked very well without any problems after that long time.
Adox is now using improved bottles with a coating on the inner surface resulting in no gas-diffusion and further improved shelf-life.

Best regards,
Henning

That's nice to know and great for the person that wants to order two or threes bottles to save on shipping or just to have on hand so you don't run out. It's good that a company looks out for the interest of its customer instead of trying to sell more due to wasted product. My hat is off to Adox................Now, will we ever see Acutol, aka FX-14?

A developer similar to Acutol is FX-15 which sold as Acutol-S. The formula is available should you wish to mix your own.

Thanks, Gerald. I just happen to have all those chemicals on-hand so I'll have to give it a try.
