Adox - Efke

Has anything changed apart from the name in Efke going back to the old brand name of Adox?
I was hoping that certain issues with the film would be fixed, like the 120 packaging and its sensitivity to fogging...
Btw, have anyone used their papers?

If they are renamed Varycon and Emaks, I've used them. They are capable of giving wonderful results, but not in my hands...

at the risk of sounding totally out of the loop:

they changed the name?

at which point i would add that "efke" is a lot cooler sounding to say than "adox"

though i suppose it makes up with history what it loses in mystery

probobly easier to market too

Emaks warm tone paper

Emaks is the "original" names of Efke paper sold for many years in EU.
Emaks is graded warm tone paper, disappear three years ago from the European market.
I never worked with Varycom, but if I remember well it is a multigrade paper....
Efke made various types of paper in different surfaces I have some very old boxes of Emaks and Efkebrom not yet usable.
They are really good paper hoping that control quality works well, in the past they suffer many changments in emulsion that sometimes were not so pleasant.
Anyway Emaks is a superb warm tone paper.

Varycon = Maco Multibrom

The Emaks and Varycon I've had problems with were/are RC papers. I'm using Maco Expo RF right now, for the print exchange!

BTW, I've had good results with Varycon RC and lith printing, although it pepper fogs like mad at the slightest hint of provocation!

Dead Link Removed in the UK have Adox paper called 'Adox Fine Print Vario Classic' which claims to have a high silver content - don't know if it's the same stuff as Varycon, but I thought I'd mention it as Retro have a link to APUG on their site...

I do not think so, these Classic papers are more like Forte.
Apart from the link to APUG Retrophotographic has good stuff as well ;-)
