Expose at EI 20. Currently only Rodinal is available with me now. Scare 18 minutes will underdev the film.
This youtuber said Rodinal very bad choice as developer for this film.
Tenchi, I had difficulty working out which prints came from which combinatons of developers and it was difficult to make comparisons as each combination of developer had a different scene in it. I found myself overloaded with information and wasn't always sure which developer combination applied to which print. What you were able to get from it may have been of a much better quality
However what was clear was the emphasis placed on his stated vast superiority of EI 12 and the Adotech developer. He did not use Caffenol but the examples here of Caffenol looked very good
However if you cannot make the right Caffenol developer and have to rely solely on Rodinal then have a look at the video below. John Finch the presenter used several dilutions of Rodinal and the one that surprised me and him was 1+200 one hour stand development. He presents scans of the same image at different dilutions and then in his favour in my opinion he makes 2 darkroom prints. What it showed me is that the label of "grainy developer" that most pin on Rodinal may be much less deserved that it appears to be
Now a word of warning. His film was FP4 and not Adox CMS 20-ii. It may be that at any dilution that Rodinal and CMS are a combination not even worth considering but I do wonder if Dave Hancock could have done better with it. I was struck each time that the message was how bad almost any developer was especially Rodinal and how "all roads led to the Adotech developer being the only one worth considering despite its high cost
Anyway here's the John Finch video should you wish to consider it as being of any use to you, given that in your case it is Rodinal or nothing
