Is there any chance of getting CMS 20 II in 8x10 sheet film size?
Also is it possible to get Adotech IV in larger bottles?

For contact printing, why not choose CHS 100 II?

Because it's not CMS 20 :D. I have CHS 100 in 4x5. CHS 100 would be a lot easier to work with, as far as developers go. Looks like I'll have to make some little carbon prints and compare them.

I haven't tried CMS yet but CHS is quite beautiful in 4x5. I hope to get it in 8x10 at some point (when my 8x10 arrives anyway). I'm with you though, CMS would be the ultimate in insane resolution. I'm sure it well out-resolves most LF lenses but there would be much wow! Curious how thin is the CMS base in 4x5? That's my only concern with it (well, that and the need for the specialized developer which I'd mow through pretty quicky with sheet sizes).

HR50 is one I'd love to see in sheets. Pre-2020 I think that was the plan but I'm not sure what the timetable is on that now (or if). I love Rollei IR but the base is just soooo thin in the sheet sizes.

Pardon me but, is it worth the trouble? This film's unique selling point is the lack of grain and overall high resolution. None of this matters when contact printing, so what gives?

I caught myself after I sent my last response and thought about editing it back - the thing is CMS, in addition to having a crazy fine resolution, also has a somewhat unique spectral curve relative to other films, along with a pretty unique look. I myself don't know if it IS worth the trouble or not, mostly due to having to use the dedicated developer. I do want to try it (in 35mm first) and planned to until DHL had other plans :/ but I still hope to get my hands on it at some point.

The dedicated developer would be fine, but the required volume for sheets is much higher than for roll films. I know some folks have tried to tame CMS in normal developers - at a significant loss in speed though. That doesn't bother me much and in fact I think I'd often shoot CMS below 20 no matter the developer, but it's a thing. I do like having a standardized developer (XT-3 in my case) though I have been thinking about Pyrocat-HD (not for CMS just normally), specifically for contact printing and alternative processes.

Anyways! I think it's a valid argument (if it's worth the trouble or not) but I don't have a practical answer myself. Were CMS in 8x10 though it's something I'd be seriously considering.

CMS 20 II has inherently more contrast than CMH 100, which could make it an ideal candidate for the type of printing that I do...carbon transfer. To get CMH up to snuff, I would have to develop it longer than I would have to with CMS 20...which is fine but..there's an increase of base fog...if significant, can be a bitch to print through and get decent blacks.

Well ... my questions specifically are:
1. Is there any chance of getting CMS 20 II in 8x10 sheet film size?
2. Would it possible to get Adotech IV in larger bottles?

Hopefully, someone from Adox can answer that.

Please ... let's not make it about other film stock choice or if it is worth it or not worth it.

Sorry, but I felt that I needed to justify why I would like to see it in 8x10. You could always ask Team Adox, who posts here regularly.

Sorry - I did not mean it like that and you certainly did not try to make it about anything else

I am simply saying that a thread can get derailed when people say:
- why don't you try XYZ film instead?
or
- whats the point of doing contact prints with film X when you can't even see the difference?

Those are all fine questions, but that's not what my intention with this thread is.
Hopefully, Adox will answer and if the answer happens to be "No" then at least this thread can serve as a place where interested parties can express their interest and perhaps persuade Adox to make CMS 20 II available in 8x10 size at some point.

I remember when I said I wanted to try CMS 20 in 4x5, and someone here said to me, what's the point when grain is not an issue in LF. Party poopers!

Great !
I am interested too in 8x10 CMS 20 II, and already asked them.
Why is it woth while for me ?
Because - as many others - I am researching lighting and some special old lenses, and I prefer to "see the lens" instead of the film.
Portraits, sculptures, architecture, I prefer to see how light bends and reflects because of the lens: to see the crystal grain of the marble and not of the film, or how the lens gets out of focus on surfaces etc etc.
Thanks Adox for taking care

Mmmm... Fine but when enlarging you're still bound to see at least some grain in the print once you go over about 20 x 25ft and stand about 2 feet away😁
