Dear photrio community,

as an early Christmas present 😀 ADOX CHS 100 II is available in 120 format again!

Our modernisation project of 120 rollfilm format film confectioning has been recently finished successfully, so we can again produce film in this popular classic format.
We start with our CHS 100 II film. Further film types will follow in the future.

ADOX CHS 100 II is available via our global distribution partner FOTOIMPEX:

ADOX - Innovation in Analog Photography.
THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE ANALOG.

Really excellent news!
I really liked CHS 100 II in 120, and in 2020 I exposed my last rolls.
So I am very happy to have it back 😍.

Best regards,
Henning

As I wrote in the other topic, this is great news. But I'll just repeat it here once again, since I'm really excited to go out and use it! Can't wait till my 10 rolls arrive in the Netherlands.

Sorry for my poking, making some remarks about the 120 every now and then. It was always with a smile.

Great news, finally a product of some value and not yet another gimmick. Sells for a sane price, too.

Great to hear. I received the email this morning about the December 9th event in Switzerland.

I'm looking forward to 120 CMS 20II. My wish is that ADOX releases larger bottles of Adotech IV at the same time (250ml? 500ml?). While that would still be a relatively expensive developer, reduced packaging cost has the potential to bring down the price. My results with this combination in 35mm are as good as Henning says they are for him.

I'm with Sal on this one. A 500ml bottle of Adotech IV would be nice. I plan on using a lot of CMS 20 II in 120 when it becomes available...

I really like the timing of the launch by the way. Everyone is waiting for Harman to finally announce Phoenix 200. Making a mystery, stalling. Und just before the moment supreme, BAM, there is CHS in 120. And I'm much more excited about that now.

As I don't do color, this is an excellent early Christmas gift.

Totally agree

I want to order some but don't have any experience with DHL delivering to my home address. I don't think I've ever seen a DHL truck in Sonoma County. Anyone have any experience with them? I've had orders from fotoimpex some years ago, but I don't think they were delivered by DHL.

( Also -- the package wouldn't be x-rayed, would it? )

I've had DHL deliveries from Japan in 3 days and from Fotoimpex to Canada via DHL in under a week

DHL is fine when you're dealing with their air express folks. It's when you get ground post involved that it can get screwy. A lot depends on how the seller (sender) describes the parcel (customs). I've purchased from Fotoimpex to US no problems. I get express from Japan to Iowa City IA in 48 to 72 hours. Same with FedEx.

Wonderful news, do you have a characteristic curve of the film?
I'm looking at the datasheet and it mentioned a long shoulder
THanks

Delivery from Czech Republic to Australia by DHL took almost 3 months. The parcel forwading company I used said it was their normal experience with DHL.

If it took 3 months through a forwarder, it was ground service. DHL has two totally separate services:
- German postal service: ranging from ground to air mail. A package from Germany to Canada can take 2 months (sea transport) or 2 weeks (air)
- DHL Express. Faster than UPS, Fedex etc for most destinations, we use it often for work Asia - Canada - Europe etc.

From my experience with CHS 100 II I can say that it is a very flexible film concerning developers and possible characteristic curves (cc).
So de facto you can get any cc you want / need.
It is one of the advantages of CHS 100 II.

If you want / need a linear cc, just use a developer which is designed for that, like e.g. DD-X, T-Max dev. Ultrafin T-Plus, Rodinal in 1+25.
And if you want a (semi)compensating cc, just use a developer which is designed for that purpose, like e.g. FX-39 II (compensating effect can be very well adjusted by dilution and agitation), Rodinal in higher dilutions 1+50, 1+75, 1+100 (compensating effect can be very well adjusted by dilution and agitation), XT-3 in 1+1, 1+2, D-76 in 1+1 or 1+2.

Best regards,
Henning
