The only place I've seen Adox products of any type in America is from Freestyle. But nowadays that seems to have ended.

I think we are limited to Fotoimpex. With the current exchange rates and super quick shipping here, you make a large enough order and it's well worth it.

B&H has Adox in 35mm. Maybe they'll carry 120 one day...

I hope so. B&H has carried Adox developers, paper, roll film and sheet film.
Argentix in Montreal carried some products. It may take a while for the new products to reach N America.

Still waiting for any of their developers, and HR-50 in any format (to me their most compelling film at the moment).

That is one film that I would like to get my clammy hands on!

I hope Jacques will get in some Adox films, AND Rollei IR. I just sent him an email...

Then just buy some Scala 50. ADOX has indicated they're the same film, just labeled differently for marketing purposes.

Thanks Sal. I didn't know that about Scala. I can find it in 35, but want roll film.

From my experience with CHS 100 II I can say that it is a very flexible film concerning developers and possible characteristic curves (cc).
So de facto you can get any cc you want / need.
It is one of the advantages of CHS 100 II.

If you want / need a linear cc, just use a developer which is designed for that, like e.g. DD-X, T-Max dev. Ultrafin T-Plus, Rodinal in 1+25.
And if you want a (semi)compensating cc, just use a developer which is designed for that purpose, like e.g. FX-39 II (compensating effect can be very well adjusted by dilution and agitation), Rodinal in higher dilutions 1+50, 1+75, 1+100 (compensating effect can be very well adjusted by dilution and agitation), XT-3 in 1+1, 1+2, D-76 in 1+1 or 1+2.

Best regards,
Henning

We can completely confirm this from our tests with different developers.
This great flexibility and responsiveness of CHS 100 II to different kinds of developers - developers for straight linear curves and semi- or full-compensating developers - is indeed an important advantage of CHS 100 II.
So yes, just use the developer you need for the wanted shape of the characteristic curve.

Can we expect to be able to buy 120 rolls of CHS 100 II in the USA anytime soon? It's expensive to have a few rolls shipped from Fotoimpex. Thanks!

You'll need to convince B&H or FreeStyle to buy a few pallets worth. I figure the sales volume is too low.

Well the production has just been announced.....isn't it somewhat wishful thinking to imagine it in stores in N America already?

Yes, generally shipping overseas needs some time.

Well, we've announced that the film is available again (production of several thousand rolls has been finished, and that stock is in the warehouse and ready for shipments), and can be bought via our global distributor FOTOIMPEX.

One important general comment, as this topic arises quite often:
Film distributors, shops, labs etc. are all independent companies who make their own decisions which products they want to stock and offer to their customers.
We have no influence on those company decisions. But if a company decides to order our products, our global distributor FOTOIMPEX will of course do all needed to ship the ordered products to the business customer as soon as possible. With the only exception that sometimes some products cannot be offered to other distributors for certain economic reasons, or our supply is limited.

If ordering at FOTOIMPEX directly isn't an economical option for you, and you want to buy our products at your local / regional / national distributor, then in general please contact your distributor and tell them which ADOX products you want to buy via their company.

Freestyle, which charges quite a bit for shipping within the U.S. by the way, receives its ADOX product via ocean/surface transport. Less expensive than DHL Express but s-l-o-w. Retail customers in this country will pay to get CHS 100II one way or the other: time or money.

Group purchases at FOTOIMPEX could be the answer: Saving time and money 😉.

Well, not actually saving money, but at least spreading the shipping cost among multiple purchasers. I don't volunteer to coordinate the herd of cats involved in such endeavors. Been there, done that.

😆....which I can understand.
If I would live in sunny California instead of cold Northern Germany I would probably just create a FOTOIMPEX Christmas package for me: CHS 100 II in 120 and 135, FX-39 II as the perfect developer for that film, Adostop, Adofix, SCALA 50 and the SCALA reversal kit and maybe some further goodies if there is some weight/room left for the optimal parcel size.......🥰😎. So spreading the shipping cost in an optimal way over several products.
Ah....reminds me that even as a German I still have to make my Christmas order there.....😇.

Best regards,
Henning

10 rolls HP5+ 120 and 10 rolls CHS100 II in 120 is my own Christmas present. I agree with FX39 the best developer for CHS. It's prefer it over Rodinal. I'll give Ilfosol also a try for CHS once my baby bottle FX39 is finished.

Just a short info for photographers in North America:
Current feedback of our customers is that with DHL Express the shipping time is normally only 1-2 two days to the East Coast, and 2-4 days to the West Coast.
So first CHS 100 II 120 have already arrived at our customers in NA.
