Today we cut the first boxes of ADOX CHS 100 II sheetfilm 4x5 and 8x10.

They are available in our webshop as per tonight in 4x5 and 8x10:

http://www.fotoimpex.de/shopen/films/adox-chs-100-ii-102x127-cm-4x5-inch-25-blatt.html
http://www.fotoimpex.de/shopen/films/adox-chs-100-ii-203x254-cm-8x10-inch-25-blatt.html

Other sheetfilm formats will follow in about two weeks. In about 2-3 weeks we also expect the 35mm films to be available.
120 will take a bit longer.

We updated the techspecs on the adox website.
More development data will be added shortly.

Enjoy the new film!

Mirko

Congratulation!

p.s. I see the box say 50 sheets, do you pack 25 sheets in a box as well?

That's excellent Mirko

I look forward to getting hold of some, the downside is I recieved some of your old Adox 100 5x4 this morning. Does this new emulsion have better hardening than the EFKE version. Despite using EFKE films since the 70's I've never used the 100 ISO versions :D

Hello Adox Fotoimpex,
Thank you for keeping film alive!
Do you also have plans for film sheets in 18x24 cm format?
Thanks,
Bert from Holland

Looks like I am on the wrong side of the pond, for now.

Congratulations on bringing a new product to market. I hope to see examples, or the film itself, here soon.

My order is on its way as soon as I see 35mm listed.

Ian

Is this a similar or same formula as Efke 100?

Any chance Adox could pick up with the IR820 and IR820Aura? That would be awesome!

Thanks Mirko for the good news!

From the US can I order film from your facility?

Thank you!

They ship to the US, but I hope you're not in a hurry. It took me a month to receive my film and the order got messed up.

Excellent news! I notice that the data sheet describes the film as "orthopanchromatic", which I guess means a reduced red response more or less matching the old Efke films?

Exactly. Even if Fotokemika was still allive today the films wouldn´t be the same because many components are not manufactured anymore.
We tried to match the old film as closely as possible using what was readily available off the shelve.

It is possible to get even closer but not within less than a years time (unless you spend so much money that I am sceptical anyone would do this).

We were kind of inbetween the necessity to bring the follow up film fast and match it as closely as possible.

We think that the outcome is very good. All bugs have been fixed:

- A state of the art coating with no defects
- A hardened emulsion
- More speed @ finer grain
- A similar old style single layer emulsion system
- A very similar spectral response including the gap at blue-green (compare the curves old vs. new on the ADOX website)
- The same clear archival PET base
- A new light piping prevention (quite a problem with the old film)
- Improved anti halation (AHU)
- Better confectioning

I am sorry to hear this. We use postal service for international shippments because only postal service covers the entire world at reasonable prices. The reason is that they can do it via the world postal contract customs process. Private companies need to declare customs at the airport which ups the price per parcel usually about 20 USD just for paperwork.
Usually postal works very well and also prevents remote area surcharges etc.

If you are from the US you should always consider our distributor freestyle as a first choice.

Does Freestyle have this film yet? I don't see it listed on their web site.

One big issue I have with the new Freestyle web site (I need to drop them a line about this) is that items I KNOW they carry do not show up under the menu system. But if you enter the name you know in the search function, it pops right up and is available. I could cite examples but this isn't about Freestyle - I did a search on CHS and found nothing, nor do I see it listed under Adox films.

When I look at it , it says 25 sheets per box.

Karl-Gustaf

It says: ADOX CHS 100 II 10,2x12,7 CM (4x5 INCH) / 25 Blatt, but the picture shows a box of 50 sheets.

Yes , I saw that now when I checked. I still think it is a 25 sheet box when you look at the price. It is just a litle more than one euro per sheet while the old CHS 100 is a litle less than a euro per sheet. They may have changed their mind after the Picture was taken. If it really is 50 sheets for 29 euro, hurry up to order.

I'm sure the price is for a 25 sheet pack, I just don't know how is it confected - a box or an envelope which was my initial question.

That is great news, too bad 120 format is the last on the release schedule
I am reading the data sheet and noticed that the spectral response of this film looks a lot like the old ADOX CHS 25 ART as it is also pretty colour blind for red, more so than the old ADOX CHS 100 ART was. That's very exciting as ADOX CHS 25 ART was my favourite film before it was discontinued.

Do you have already some ball-park development times available for the new ADOX CHS 100 II film? Just something to get us started from which we then can devise our own recipes?
For APH 09, Rodinal and HC-110 would be very helpful.

It´s 25 shets in a box. The image will be replaced on monday. We actually took that image while the film was being made. I did not think that someone would look at it so closely. If you keep looking close you will also see that it has the same barcode like the CMS 20.
Our system is printing the stickers automatically from within the workflow management. Since the films were not done yet it didn´t let me print CHS 100 II labels (this actually comes in handy as it helps avoiding mislabeling) and in order to get around I tweaked it by printing a CMS 20 label on the CHS 100 II design template. I stuck this on a blanc box an took it over to the studio to take a packshot.... ;-)

Sorry about this confusion- it seems I underestimated the awareness of our customers ;-)

Here´s a sneak peak at page 2 of the datasheet (German).

It´s not final yet.

No they can´t.
The masterrolls were ready to be cut on wednesday. We managed to produce film until friday. We are getting better and faster in production but ships still need 6 weeks to cross the Atlantic and Panama Canal..... ;-(
I promised the film by August and it would not have been possible to hold the release until Freestyle has film.
