I use elements 12 Organizer to store scans of my 35mm proof sheets, with tags to show what is on each sheet. It has worked great in the past, but since I upgraded my computer to Windows 8, I am unable to back up the files. I can back up the actual scan outside of Elements, but not the tag information. Other people have had the same or similar problem with Elements 11 and 12 crashing when you try to back up files, and Adobe is "working on it", but this has been going on for months.
Does anyone know of an alternative to Elements Organizer (in the same price range) that will recognize the tag information from Elements? I'd hate to have to go back through these sheets and re-tag them.

every time Adobe comes out with a new update,rhey try to sell us on improved compatibility,but nothing ever happens.they just replaceone flaw with another,leaving you craving for the next update.we are fools for believing them.:whistling:
 
perhaps it has to do with windows 8, as i had trouble with 7 seeing and opening files from xp and had to find a "repair" from micosoft (never happened)
 
Two ideas come to mind, both are in the "might be worth a look" category.
1. IrfanView is free, has been around for a long time and last I knew is pretty well supported.
2. Corel PaintShop Pro seems to have a pretty robust Organizer function.

Google research regarding the above might answer to the problems you are experiencing.

Thanks, I'll look into Corel. I didn't realize they had an organizer function. I'll also look at ifranview, hadn't heard of them before.
