If you subscribe to Adobe's "all apps" plan, here is a tip for when your plan comes up for renewal:
Call and ask if you can get a discount from the usual $659 price.
I have been a subscriber for three years now. Forced into it when my old Mac Pro died, and I couldn't get my CS6 onto anything else, even older Macs with OS 10.6.8 on them (long story). Also tried Affinity Photo which I didn't like.
The first year, Adobe gave me the all apps plan for $359, supposedly because it was my first year.
The second year (last year), when it was up for renewal, I called to say I wanted to cancel the all apps plan and wanted to buy just the $10/month Photo plan (smaller amount storage than the $20/month Photo plan) plus InDesign. The person then gave me the all apps plan for $259 -- less than my cost the first year. I didn't ask why. Just gladly accepted.
So I decided to try calling again this year when plan up for renewal, and their email said it would cost $659.
I didn't get the $259 price again, but I got the $359 I paid first year. That is what it would cost me to get the $10/month Photo plan plus InDesign, which is what I was going to get if I didn't get a discount on all apps plan.
Maybe it's general knowledge that you can get a discount if you call, but I'm letting people know in case some not aware.
It's hard to find the phone number to call re subscriptions on Adobe site. It's 800-585-0774.
Also, if you want to buy the Photo $10/month plan (20 GB storage, Photoshop and Lightroom), you have to do it by tomorrow 1/14/25. That plan becomes obsolete on 1/15/25. After that, you have to get the version with more storage which costs twice as much.
BTW, I don't want to get into a discussion about Adobe's subscription concept which they forced on us. I could go on and on about that! Just want to pass along this tip re price which makes the situation more palatable.
