Active life of Hydroquinone in a bottle.

Hi everybody:

I have a bottle- it's contents are:

1 liter water
48 grams Hydroquinone
90 grams Sodium Sulfite

How long should I expect the hydroquinone inside to be adequately active? I use it to adjust contrast when printing graded paper with Ansco 130.

Hard to say. What type of bottle, glass, type of plastic? Is the bottle partially empty? How many times is it opened on average? Etc, etc, etc. My guess would about the sane times as recommended for D-76 or ID-11 about 6 months maybe a bit more. The solution will indicate when there are problems by turning brown.

Sorry:

It's a 1L dark brown opaque photo bottle, completely full. I would probably only use it once - I just didn't need to use any of it yesterday when printing - the negatives both worked well with the low-hydroquinone (3g/L) version of Ansco 130.
