I don't doubt it did. I used to frequent book stores selling overstocks etc. all over the States, wherever I had a chance to visit one. I have never come across one with removed front cover, but again, not questioning some places managed to do that, possibly not even knowing it was not to be sold.
Singling out a member on an unrelated discussion is NOT recommendation. Every non-subscriber has a note plastered on every page to consider paid options. Enough for that. And funny enough I have been looking into subscription just the other day, delayed it for a bit and now with your comment I am not sure this is a good idea.We always appreciate it when people recommend that users become paid subscribers.
Get this cheap film while you can.
I bought a couple of rolls a few months ago, mainly in case I decide to do some low light photography. Basically though, Across II is a little rich for my blood. Maybe other people feel the same way, and the cost is one of the reasons it's not selling well, assuming it actually is not selling well.Is Acros II not selling well? I know of a local shop here in BC that also has this date (also short dated) film on sale. It makes me think people aren't buying this film much. Anyone know? It doesn't bode well for Fuji re-releasing this film and then it doesn't sell. It could be cancelled again if no one is buying it.
I wouldn't consider Acros II as "not fresh". A month expired doesn't matter and personally I prefer Acros over Delta.Besdies, the Delta and T-Max I have right now is all super fresh. I can shoot the cheap stuff now, when I'm likely to make mistakes and before i get too fond of the more expensive stock.

$5 a roll! If it gets any better we'll have Archie Bunker singing "These were the days"$5/roll for just out of date film is about as cheap as it gets these days.
It seems Adorama miscalculated the pent-up desire for Acros and bought way too much when the new film was released. I doubt they will make the same mistake again.
You're probably right. When I did advertising for a local camera shop, they rarely discounted anything that didn't reflect a deal they were getting from the distributor or manufacturer.I don't know how Fuji distribution works in the US, but it's also possible (likely, IMO) that the importer / distributor had a stock of unsold film that was relatively short date, Adorama bought the truckload for a large discount, and then sold it on to us.
