I haven't voted that way! I buy all my film at the local camera store, and have never bought anything at B&H. People here have tried to convince me that I should be buying from B&H instead of my local store, even when the local store is cheaper. Most odd.

That's great, here in US my local guy, who I have probably spent 100,000 bucks at over the years He buys film through a distributor who literally charges my dealer more than what B&H sells the film for. It's crazy ,plus local guy is required to collect 7 percent state and local sales tax. This is the madness of US retail . No tax collected on vendors from out of state. No VAT no nothing . I try to buy everything from small local shops, in US no local source for film and paper. Walmart sucks.

While I'm sad that Acros will be going away and was initially upset, I think this article made me think more about the reasoning behind the discontinuation. The article makes sense and it can explain why things couldn't be deviated from the selected course Fuji was on. In the end once the legal contracts, suppliers (chem, wood pulp stock, etc), machines and staff are gone Fujifilm Film dept. would be just about sales and marketing until any inventory is gone. I am hating the speculators and profiteers hoarding the current stock but, everyone knew it was going to happen once it was announced. :-(

For those of us who ran out to buy HIE when its demise was announced, we remember that Kodak said it has a supply that would last X months. HIE disappeared in a week or two. Again when one hears that a film is about to be discontinued, run out and buy what you can so the hoarders cannot buy it first.

My order of 110 rolls came in this afternoon. I made the order the first day I read about the at the time rumour. I am still hoping that one can order and get Acros in June when I need to order the other films we are taking to Scotland/Iceland in the fall. If not I will need to order some other film to replace some of the Acros I already had for that trip.

I did email my supplier that if they do get some more in t9 hold another 40 rolls for me. They still had it in 135 however I still have 9 rolls from a bulk load of Lecacy 100 which shows how little I shoot 135. I never ever made the opportunity to shoot it in 4×5.

Ordered from Freestyle (4x5) ... confirmed and all, only to receive an email 3 hours later, no dice. Online sales outpaced their ability to maintain the website.

Acros is dead at freestyle.

Removed on BH and Adorama.

He's in Canada so he has importation issues. Here in the US, no brick and mortar store can compete with B & H.

Even without importation issues and shipping cost, on a straight currency exchange basis I can buy Ilford at The Camera Store in Calgary cheaper than B&H. Obviously that can vary with the Canadian/US dollar exchange rate but it's so close I'd never consider buying elsewhere than locally.

Acros has been removed from B & H's web site. It's now listed as discontinued. Previously it was listed as out of stock, with more on the way, expected in 7-14 days. That message has been taken down.

Wow......I'm speechless that the supply is apparently gone already from the usual supply chain.

were you able to order your 500 rolls or not? I know B&H do take orders, even if it is....I have no idea what their holidays are
I have ordered during easter from them and the very day the holiday for them was over, the order was processed and sent as usual.

I ordered 25 120 rolls and 20 rolls in 35mm from Fotoimpex, they are on their way, but I see that they are also out now.

I suspect that they cannot be out-out so soon, October is the end-date, so supply should be there until that date at least.

I'm not sure their aim is profit from the film photography end. The owners (Brits) are just passionate about keeping it alive. Argentix is in the same boat here in Canada and both deserve support from Canadian film photographers.

You are very fortunate to have such a place. Our shop here in Iowa City will be closed forever on Saturday. I used to get my Cibachrome chemistry there, they carried huge stocks of used . It was the real thing . And yes the owner Roger Christian is very passionate about the place.

Well, Acros is still around at Yodobashi here in Japan, but they are limiting orders to 5 packs per person. Similarly, the Fujibro paper is down to just the graded papers (I guess it has been for a while), and most of what's left is glossy (too glossy for me in RC). That said, based on the news here I just ordered another 5 (120) and 5 (135) pro packs of Acros, and a few boxes of the Fujibro. It was nice for lith, I'll be sad to see it go.

I ordered 5 more 5-packs of 120 when B&H still indicated "more in 7-14 days". Not sure if I'll get it or not. I must admit I have mixed feelings about ordering more, but it will give me a little more time to think about what to try next. I haven't been using it all that long... maybe I've gone through a couple dozen boxes altogether in the past few years.

Constant flux characterises the film business, I wonder if it hasn't always been like that. I remember reading acounts of catalogue photographers being angry with Kodak for chaging the look of EPR half way through a commission; they had to panic buy film with certain serial numbers to get the old formulation.

I now work on the assumption that all current films will one day be changed or cut. I have had many dissapointments: Reala, 800Z, 400X, Neopan 400/1600, 400VC, Sensia, super8 chrome, Supra Endura... I'm not rich enough to spend four figures on film stocks but I can buy extra each order to try build up a 2-3 year buffer so the next cut won't cause me to panic buy.

So many people right now are buying Acros 100 that the cost is $60 per pro pack (normal price is $23), *IF* you can find it. All available channels in the US are sold out.
