The graded paper on the shelf is Kodabromide. Also in the shop is a B&J Press Camera with Revolving back, a Revere 8 Turret camera, a Ciroflex TLR, a booklet called "Enlarging is Thrilling" (published 1945), a Fed-Flash made by Federal, a Kalart Focuspot and a Kalart Master Flashing Unit, and a Mendelsohn Universal Flash Speed Gun Model E.

I used a lot of Kodabromide back in the 70s but never in E surface.

The Argus Argoflex E on the top shelf was made in the USA from 1940 to 1948. The Kodabromide E surface paper was available in 1945.

An easier one

I'd guess a little earlier - the Instamatic at $19.88, a Miranda SLR, a Minolta SRT at $259.??

No doubt you're right; mine was a wild guess without looking into types & retail prices. But the bits of info you mentioned should make it possible to fairly accurately date it!

Wow. When I was in my teens and started to have a (very) little spending money, there was still a Woolworths on the square in my home town. That would have been in the late 1960s. But they never had a camera counter like that one! (But there was a camera store just a few blocks away where I bought my first camea - a used Pentax Spotmatic.)

The Polaroid Bigswinger dates to 1968-70. The Polaroid 430 was 1971-77.
So very early 1970's I would think.
My thought was, those Polaroids would be good for pinning down a date. Some cameras, like that TLR, looked pretty much the same for 20 years. But the relatively rapid evolution of Polaroid cameras produced several distinct styles over a fairly short period of time.

Looks like you used to be able to buy an Omega B-series enlarger at Woolworths (behind / in line with the cash register). The other enlarger might be an Omega A-series, I have never seen one of those in person.

There are a couple of signs on the counter indicating the "New" Polaroid 400 cameras. One of them says "Introducing Polaroid's new 400 cameras with focused flash". This seems to indicate the initial launch of these cameras, so 1971.

As an interesting side note, there's an ad for Ker Knockers for 99c in the left end cabinet. I googled it, since I had no idea what it was. Apparently very popular in the early 70's, but later banned.
