Good tips. (You should see the amount of wear I have around the crank on one of mine -- though it seems to work fine.) The only problem is getting a photo in an eBay listing that shows this area with enough clarity.

you know Dan, with all the writing you do about these cameras, it might be nice if you had your own domain name instead of the awful AOL thing.

A follow up tip is read the advert properly. Has the camera had professional use, has it been regularly serviced, does it show the signs Dan's highlighting. Any of those should be warning signs, and good reason to be careful not to pay too much for a well used Rollei TLR.

For David B.......I do need to upgrade from AOL ( been a user since 1994 ! ), but my pages have some pretty high search engine listings, so I'd hate to damage my "google" positions.....any tips ?

Yeah, just get a shorter URL, the company who will sell you the domainname(it's cheap, maybe 20$ a year) will ask you current URL and link it. That's what I did, works great.

I already have and own antiquecameras.net and could forward all my pages to this domain.... are you guys/gals sure if I put forwards on all my AOL html pages that I wont lose my google standings ?
