Hi all,

I have just finished my first real photographic project. A series of 30 landscape inages from Iceland, all shot on Ilford FP4+ and printed in my darkroom onto Ilford MG FB Classic. It would be great to get feedback from people if anyone is interested in having a look. You can view the gallery on Dead Link Removed if you want.

Thanks

I like the photos very much, but am not such a fan of the toning. The toning is a bit inconsistent and slightly overdone on some of the photos for my taste and I think the subject matter would benefit from less colour or a different colour of toning for the snow and ice.

It could be the effect of viewing on screen, I'm sure they look much better in the flesh.

I'm a bit jealous of the trip to Iceland! It looks like a fascinating place to visit.

Thanks for sharing. The amount of work you've put in shows.

I quite like the higher key images , I do not mind the golden toning a bit. I assume there is a bit more detail in the final prints and the whites do not blow away....

Good job. Speaking of toning, have you thought of blue toning some of the ice images?

I like a lot of the images. I would suggest editing them down just for web display. 30 is a lot! People get fatigued... You can save the rest in case you show them. Better to have some in the pocket....

I don't generally have a problem with the toning except I would like to see a little more consistency.

I would like to see better scans. I can tell by looking at them that they are probably a little "off." Either you aren't color controlled, or the scans aren't as good as they could be. Scanning in a lot of ways is an art even though it is also science. Just throwing that out there not to pick on you, but to help you. The best way to scan images is to include some kind of target so you can correct them. Can't really talk about that here though....

Hope that helps a little.
