I have a question. At the first, it should be not the start of new flame. And I'm afraid that the answer would be NO.
Sometimes in the beginning of this year I decided to go for colors. It happens, from time to time. So I've started my BW pictures. Some of them in GIMP, some of them with brush and water colors. By the work with Gimp there occurs an idea. I was not satisfied by this pure computer plays - you know, prints from ink printers are ridiculous, at the best. And doing something, anything, in graphic editor is too easy to be true. So I remembered these Warhol works - I had a little or more haze idea that it was based on photography pictures printed through a form. Some googeling and everything was clear. I rediscovered silk screen printing. Next weeks - months - I spent with gathering sources and learning. I hope is not because of age, but learning curve is slow. I thing a marathon training Ive had before was the right preparation for this silk screen experience. But after that all there are pictures I haven't thrown to the bin immediately after printing. And of course, I want to share them. But...
Im still using Gimp in the process. I scan my photos and after that I have to transform the to two colors mode black and white. After that Im printing them on the transparent film and using it as a matrix during exposition of emulsion on silk. (btw silk is not from silk. More about silk screen printing here )
Silk screen pictures are really hand made. That fact is proved by the amount of colors I have to wash from my hands after printing And silk screen is not digital. There is a huge space for error and coincidence shifting, blurring, missing or overloading. Any of them playing for, or, as usually, against you. So here is a question. It is reasonable to post these pictures on APUG gallery? By threads Ive read, the answer is obvious. You can ask why I asked when I know the answer. Hm, I afraid that huge portion of questions we ask are not about answers
