I recieved a long sought-out-for tripod that I, being in wheel-chair, could effectively use wothout alot of hassle. An APUG'er who had an extra one [how this is possible, not sure??] laying about, had offered it to me.
He had shipped this tripod, no cost to me , and I got it today! I'm like a kid, with her new 'toy'!!:D :D
I don't know if he would want to mention his name; however, he does live in Florida, U. S. A.
And here's point to this post"A huge thank-you, to this gentleman from a very grateful "newbie"!!

Way too cool, good going people!

WG, how nice to hear another apug "good guy" story. Hope the tripod works well for you, but it sounds like it does already!

Art, there are plenty of acts of kindness out there, but they just aren't "newsworthy" for the media. tim

Hi everyone!
Good old Wheelygirl, here! I have a tiny problem: what type "head" would be best for this tripod & my Minolta SRT 101, using [in all likeky my current 200mm tele, and a future macro] the large lens?
In the Tempe Camera website, there is a 482 Micro Ball Head by Bogen, available. Would this be good choice? FYI, this tripod has no brand-name, and is alumininum [did I spell that right??].
Thanks to those who will tell me, which to go, in advance!

Let me set you up with a stroboframe ball head. Certainly gonna be big & strong enough for a 35 or light 6X6.
PM me w/ address info.

Great to see that APUG growing bigger and bigger still houses that spirit.
Kind regards
Søren

Wheelygirl here again!!
I have a personal problem--impatience!! I do want to thank those who made suggestions to me; they are all appreciated!!!
Now, for the impatience portion of this show: yesterday, I bought a ballhead; the Induro SA series, which a spirit level, a quick release plate, a quick release locking level. I have yet to 'play with' my newest 'toy', hopefully later today.
A big thanks to all, for your suggestions!!
