I'd echo that. I've used Gallerie and it was then and I assume is now a superb paper, but modern VC papers are so good and so convenient I've not printed on graded paper since the early 90s at least. Still I know there are people who will really appreciate it.

IF I were a graded user though and could only have one grade I'd rather have grade 3 than 2. It's easier to get softer results from a soft working developer than to punch up the contrast (though I suppose you could always un-selectively bleach the entire print somewhat, that might work...) At least I'd thinks so but what does a benighted VC printer like me know?

A re-introduction of Galerie grade 4 would be very much appreciated. Besides you wouldn't have to bother about Matt , matt , Mat , Matte or matte. It would just be plain grade 4.
Whatever comes out of the Ilford plant, thank you for your devotion Ilford.

Not only street photographers, mind you. But one has to wonder how many rolls of 220 would sell nowadays. I find it pretty amazing that Ilford manages to keep so many products in the market when other companies drop out like flies.

220 might be nice but it's not a big deal to me. I get 12 shots on my Yashicamat and 15 with my M645 Pro. On the latter I can also slap a new back on quickly, or a preloaded insert in the same back. That's good enough.

Isn't 220 film the same thickness as 120, in other words not a super-thin polyester film base like the old motordrive loads? If so, all one would need is a long-ish roll of the correct width included in the annual special-orders process - plus some offcuts of 120 backing paper and some sticky tape.

Currently 46mm and 70mm unperforated is available, so if enough people ask for the standard 120 width (just under 62mm?) then perhaps they will be lucky next year and can buy themselves the ingredients for some home-made 220

61.5mm ( 120 ) film stock is a 'standard' manufactured item and will not be offered on the ULF / Custom manufacture.

Or just learn how to make negs that print well at G2 or 3.

Water bath or Freestyle version of Selectol Soft, or more dilute regular developer or pre-flash.

I can only remember two papers I have used that responded well to water bath. Fotokemika Emaks and Kodak Azo.
I only used one box of Galerie ever, and never tried water bath. Have you tried it? Just curious.

Nope. Just throwing our some potential ways to lower contrast. I've used Selectol Soft (many years ago) and a bit of pre flashing. There are more ways to lower contrast of a graded paper than to increase it, or so it seems to me.
