3.2 Billion Images Uploaded Every Day...So What!

As a phogographer who cares?

It is estimated that there are 361 Billion written messages uploaded every day. Does a novel writer care or give it a second thought?

Seems to me shared images are easer to use to communicate than typing a text and the bulk of them serve that function: replacing typing, or even being better than typing if "a picture is worth a thousand words."

In that case of uploaded images used to communicate in place of text, the effect is three trillion two hundred billion effective words uploaded every day (3.2 Billion x 1000).

As a photographer, again, so what! It is of no concern.
As a photographer is your life work really to take a picture of your breakfast to show your friends because you can't be bothered to use language to describe the meal?

Thoughts?

You can spend a lifetime walking through forests, and there will be a few trees that you can recall, even decades later.

Photographs are like that, and some photographers are more adept at creating the memorable ones.

But there are not photographs posted on that, so it did not happen.

I couple of years ago, I was hiking in the Emigrant Wilderness. I stopped to drink some water and eat a clif bar. While sitting there I noticed a family of Yellow Bellied Marmots upon and around a group of large rocks about 25meters away. I sat quietly and motionless watching them for a while. After sometime, a young woman came up the trail and the marmots scattered and I engaged the young lady in a quiet conversation.
