A picture a day

Snow dump!!

Isn't it! I wonder how people will react when I put this camera in their face.

Friends, yesterday the cathedral's school of St. Ann's, in the neighborhood my grandmother grew up in the 1920s, burned. I visited today, took pictures on my phone, and two different film cameras. There were a variety of onlookers, from irreverent urban explorers, to longtime neighborhood locals, who I spoke to, as well as fireman and police. This is the fate of many disused American buildings, people in poverty enter in the winter to shelter from the cold, they start a fire for warmth, and the inside is destroyed. I previously took pictures of this building 15 years ago, it was among the photographs I printed in my tiny closet darkroom. You can see here how the water from the fire hoses froze in our cold January. Rest in peace Florence, 1922-2021, and the neighborhoods you knew.

that is dramatic, in a very sad way...

two shorts for the week, from my limited foraging ground,

Sad and also magnificent--wonderful photo that tells the story

That's cute. I like stupid jokes, so when I do the laundry with my wife I tell her I'm having socks with her.

More on the snow theme; went walkabout with my F2 the other day after a snowfall...

Tinkering montage for tomorrow. Today was all about getting so focused on the work that you forget about food or drink.

I’m not convinced that the warning is necessary

Love those snowy trees.
