Here goes I might be the first if there is no one already commenting on the prints about to post the reply all while I am starting. So in no particular order...
Hoffy - "Front of a Fastback". I had a Minolta 7, well I had the Dynax 7i, I sold it and all my lenses to buy my first digital SLR. Little did I know I would go back to film after 5 years of digital only. Enough of me now for the print. Ash it looks so warm, and as if it has colour. The back boarder before the white really helps. You have everything from vivid white to deep blacks in the print. A pleasure to look at.
Chiller - "Pit Stop". Second of two automotive themes. Coincidence I am sure and I am only saying this because I work in the industry. This print also appears warm to look at. Not a hint of grain that my eyes can detect and I like the image on the pearl finish paper. I'd like to see this image much larger like 16x20. My only comment was that there is a black line where the easel board blade thinned out, but I sliced off the <1mm edge and all is good for me.
Carriage - "Swanston Street Reader". Third image on Pearl paper. I like the ray of light coming down from the heavens. The picture to me conveys a man contemplating at the moment you took the picture. I am impressed with where you burnt in the print as I can't find any evidence. Job well done. I keep coming back to this picture just to look at the detail in the image.
Michael W - Inspecting Negatives. The only fiber based paper image in this exchange. One of three glossy prints. Again with your note that you've done some dodging, I think it has been done very well indeed as I would not have known if not told. Thanks for the explanation of how this print came about as for me it adds a great deal to what I can see in front of me.
Ozxplorer - "Side by side - Old with New!". Your print brings me home. The grain serves the image well, I like the deep blacks and almost cotton ball white clouds. I was there last November and I have to say there was not a lot of clouds in the sky, just blue sky raining down a ton of burning UV.
Kevin Caulfield - "Sentosa". Second medium format print. It looks like the picture is taken in the dead of night. Was it. I know when the storms go through Singapore they dump a phenomenal amount of rain in a very short time. Another picture that I keep coming back to looking for the detail within.
Thanks to everyone who participated. Yet another brilliant round of pictures and wonder stories behind each print. I hope everyone can do another round, and Ash is able to entice others into the exchange as well.
