Is this a just a second Kickstarter attempt or did you change the concept a bit?
(I do not have the first international issue concept on my mind.)

The concept was not really changed. It is still the same quality print/paper. The satndard 100p mag is nearly 500grams heavy. Also only film based photography and very little advertising. Only change, this time we combined it with a special 130 pages first issue.
It is also totally independant from the German PhotoKlassik. We do not have the same editors.
The first time we did not really know how kickstarter was working. We had many open questions. This time wwe used the last year for a very detailed planning in all directions.
A changing is also that we do have this times team members like Bruce Barnbaum, Andrew Sanderson or Bellamy Hunt and many orthers around the globe.
I must say that the entire last year preperation was one of the most exciting times in my life. Film photography world wide is so young and full of energy.

Hope I could answer your question.

Best regards

I've just backed this. In the UK and I am surprised a the number of film product, or mainly film product, distributors there are here. Talking to one of the main London suppliers, I learned that just with Kodak film their sales doubled from a year ago. There is a C41 processing and printing centre in the same area and they have recently expanded to the floor below and whenever I visit, rarely as I shoot mostly E6, the place is absolutely buzzing now. I also learned from the supplier above that a photographer who, when studying photography would buy the odd roll, now is an established professional fashion photographer and has his own fridge in the shop to store his film.

So, Marwan, thank you for your responses here, and maybe some publicity in those centres would be beneficial, and also to get some future contributors.

Regards
Richard

Dear Richard,

first of all, thank you so much for your support! The information about the film scene in UK sounds very interesting and is very similar to the situation here. We had a lot of talks with shops all over the world and those who survived till today with film service report all the same that they are working really up to the limit cause of the high demand.

I wouldreally apreciate if you could get me in contact with these places you mentioned.

Best regards

I backed it. Would love to provide you content on dry plates, it would fit well in your magazine. I’ve seen the same in sales of plates: an encouraging percentage of sales go to younger folks.

Cheers,
Jason

Only three more days until our Kickstarter ends!

We have already reached over 250% of our original goal, and we are thrilled! But it would be the icing on the cake if we managed to get 300%. Keep your fingers crossed for us..

After the Kickstarter it is possible to order the magazine or to subscribe via our website. But for the last days you can still get a saving over the newsstand price till the 31st of August here https://www.kickstarter.com/project...ional-a-film-photography-maga?ref=creator_nav

PhotoKlassik International Update #12 Sep 16 2018

The printing process started last Tuesday when we went to do some final checks on the print quality and give the printer a "thumbs up" to start the machines. It was a very exciting day, seeing all the the hard work and thought suddenly made visible.

For all our backers and those who are interested about the status...

This thread IS about the English (International) version.

The German version already is succesful for some years.

(Sean recently introduced a new automatic feature that actually also cancels active links, as in post#1.)

I think they said that the first batch was for selling at the exhibition in September 2018 and then subscribers (like me) will get one from the next batch of printing.

So, I and others I'm sure, will report back as soon as we have a copy! Fingers crossed it will be worth the wait...

Hi Terry,
If you have subscribed already, your magazine will be on its way to you soon! You're right that we are unveiling the magazine at the exhibition, but we will also be sending out copies in the days immediately following. If there aren't any postal delays, cross your fingers for delivery in the next week or two, and I'll be looking forward to hearing your impressions!

I bought a copy at the Photokina and got it signed by both Charys and Marwan. Had a nice chat with them too. The magazine looks very nice and is printed on a thicker paper, same as the German version. Well worth the money I think.

I subscribe to both the German and English versions and like them both. I picked up my first International version at the photokina and have read it twice. Dedicated solely to analogue, I have picked up a few tips and got some inspiration from the magazine, which is always a good thing.

As a side note, I was accidentally sent a second copy of Issue 1. When I let the guys knows they told me to keep it and give it someone else. Which I did. I gave it to a purely digital shooter of calendars etc and he was very happy  May have a convert...

Keep up the great work Marwan + team. Well appreciated.

Shamefully, my copy is still in the pile of other magazines and books that I'm wading through...

The first flick through, when it first arrived, makes it look interesting and well worth reading.

I must speed up my reading!

I had forgotten how wonderful it is to hold a real photo magazine in my hands. One other comment. The packaging for the International edition, is a very sturdy elegant solution. Arrived in perfect condition.

Thats good to read, we need these feedbacks. We were afraid that the magazine would arrive damaged.
