Thank you. The German magazin that was the base for the English international Version is now more than 6 years sucessful on the german speaking market. They print quarterly 10.000 Issues and it sells very well. The readers are mainly in the age between 18 and 45.I have seen many analog magazines come and go, so I wish this one every success.

Thats not what I said. The fact that writers like Bruce Barnbaum and Andrew Sanderson are on board shows that it is for all generations.Well, it looks like older people need not apply.
It even is offered locally.Thank you. The German magazin that was the base for the English international Version is now more than 6 years sucessful on the german speaking market. They print quarterly 10.000 Issues and it sells very well. The readers are mainly in the age between 18 and 45.
...In Germany we do have the situation that especially people above 50 are not so much interested any more in film.
That's interesting. Here in the U.S. the woods seem to have a good population of "graybeards" using their large format cameras. The high peaks, of course, not so much. And many are just resigned to wet printing negatives made at an earlier time. Some are re-building their darkroom or modifying the existing one. A few are teaching the techniques to anyone interested. The dream goes on.
That rule especially applies to users of recumbent cycles who have the temerity to do a 100 miles and still not suffer from any ill effects and yes, I feel bound to add, also use Xtol without any ill effects eitherWell, it looks like older people need not apply.
Interesting wise amoung these young photographers here in Germany you'll find a lot who are very intersted in large formate photography. But if you see the group of young instant photographers and others I think also in the States analog photography is a very young subject.
But if I see the world from the perspective of the art world, academies, photo classes and talking to photo students and lecturers I do not see that grow in interest at all, but rather a decline.
Geez a new beautiful magazine and so many complaints....makes me wonder about the crowd here..
This will be an expensive magazine to produce at the level of quality that is required - I do not see how they will be able to sustain production without advertisers in addition to subscribers.
I backed the Kickstarter campaign, last one as well. Samples from the first issue shown on the campaign page look very promising for worthwhile content. There is a void out there for a print magazine devoted to film photography; I am not one who thinks people posting random ideas and bits of advice on the internet supplies humanity’s every need. Film photography is always going to be a niche in the current world, but it would be nicer for everyone associated with it if it were a bigger niche, and that’s going to require the kind of cultural infrastructure inhabited by things like decent print magazines. Print magazines in general are, yes, facing a decline in sales due to the inroads and challenges posted by the internet, but a subject like photography would seem to call out for the vehicle of a print magazine more than the “news” does. The Print, and all that. If things like mountain biking can support numerous print magazines, it seems perverse to think that film photography doesn’t warrant something like this. Perhaps even need something like this.
To those behind PhotoKlassik: I wish you all the best.
After much deliberating, I have finally made the pledge for a yearly subscription. This has moved the total a little closer to the amount required but a few more pledges are still needed for it to be a reality.
All the best with the project.

Congratulations!! Eagerly awaiting the inaugural issue.
