Hi everyone! I’m relatively new to the forum, just subscribed tonight in fact. I am in my 5th year of college as a physics major, and have a “part-time” darkroom back at home I use during the summer off. (it also doubles as a bathroom, so space is an issue) Seeing how I just came back from school most of my chemicals are expired. As such, I’m going to work this summer with experimenting on Polaroid lifts and transfers. If anyone has some personal advice / tips other than “the standard directions” I’d love to hear. I do only black and white, as that’s all the equipment I’ve been able to purchase (money is also an issue for us college students ;-) I like to develop prints with coffee, it gives them an antiquated patina (and, its free!) Well happy shooting y’all. -BMD

Welcome from Hawaii. I hope you enjoy our community. What part of the world do you live in? We are quite diverse here.

Hi from New Zealand. Great time to be more seriously interested in photographic art.
There are many on APUG that can help with poloroid transfers, a couple immediately come to mind. Sharon ( Shmoo) does some fantastic images. And Kathleen Carr who is also quite new. A recognised authority and educator - with some great books to her name I believe.

Welcome to the site! I found physics far more useful than art classes in college for helping to understand this medium so congratulations your 1 step in the rite direction!
