It was bizarre, I was making my Ansco 130 last week, and I have a brand new container of glycin from formulary. Its still in the black plastic wrap. I opened it up, unscrewed the top and I used a plastic spoon to get some glycin.....and then it started to explode like pop rocks! When I put the spoon it, it started to spew up the top like a kid's 5th grade volcano experiment!

I think it was static from the plastic spoon but I've been doing the same thing for a while now and that was strange. My glycin was all over the place!
 
Wow, wild, but then Glycin doesn't need too much coaxing to end up all over the place!!..EC
 
Weird.

My favourite is when it hisses and foams up when added to the stock solution...it's like its, its, it's alive I tell you, alive, ALIVE! MWAA HAA HAA HAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

the first time i mixed the stuff
it started to hiss and foam and i said " oh cr@p! "
wearing my rubber apron, and nuke-grade gas mask
i bolted out of the darkroom ..

now, i just listen for the hisss, and smile ...
