There are two real chemists who have contributed to this discussion. Between them, they probably have close to a century of experience (sorry guys, if I've added a few years to you...). The OP stated he's been researching chemistry for a few months. Some of his defensive remarks have been off the mark (i.e.- no one stated that "it will not work"). You're new here, and probably aren't aware of the contributions the two chemists have made to this site. Based on their history, and knowledge, 99.9 percent of regulars, here, will respect their opinions over someone who started looking into this stuff a month ago.

Geez, and I don't like being misquoted or having my comments distorted to fit some idea of what they think that I am saying.

<the rest was deleted since it was only self-excuses......>

Well now you know how it feels to others when that happens. And it did already in this thread.

Instead of searching for ways to make this go away, just try it. You have all the data, you claim to have acces to chemicals, its a small matter, just mix Parodinal if you happen to be out of commercial Rodinal (what real photographer would?), and thtat sorted out, the entire process is just an hours work, two including developing the film.

It is so simple!

I guess you don't understand the background of some of those who you are referring to.

Career scientists whose occupation was the development of photographic films and chemistries, and who continue to be active in the education of others.

AWIT?

I think that Eddie said it well in the post above yours.

I prefer to design my own developers from knowledge gained over years of darkroom work. And, I prefer to run my own tests for comparison.

I think that the acronym of your SN is interesting.

Oh I've been reading APUG for some time with no need to contribute, a large part for lack of interest has been the negativism around here, and half-sung melodies......

Instead of a negative "that will not work" I prefer people who says "it will be better if you try XX gram of YYYY instead of QQQQ" - that rarely happens around here, especially by "two real chemists", I find that onerous too......

The whole point of the Net and forums like these is to SHARE information as much as possible, if anyone thinks they will get rich or get a real patent and start a business in photo chemistry in this day and age, have a look at the calendar, it does not read 1890, it reads 2011........

Tronds and AWIT- You have an opportunity to get input from a renowned expert in the field. Instead of heeding his posts, you choose to insult. Not too smart, if you ask me (and, I'd guess, the majority of APUGers).

I wonder if Tronds and AWIT are actually two different people.

I am pretty sure PE and Gerald Koch are

I am starting to think the same thing as Matt here... And it's getting pretty ugly now.

Not much point in letting this thread run if it's not going to stay on topic and be a bickeringfest. Will give it a chance to get back on track.
